Final Event in Brussels
CiProVoT- Civil Protection Volunteers Training project is co-funded by DG EAC, Erasmus +: Key Action 2, Strategic Partnership in the field of Adult education. The project started on 31 December 2017 and it will officially finish on 31 December 2019 and it aims at aims developing a trans-national – European – training course module for Civil Protection Volunteers.
During the event, the project will be presented, as well as the results of its research. This is an event addressed to professionals working with Civil Protection organisations, humanitarian and volunteering associations, policy makers and everyone who is interested in overall international cooperation.
In about two years, six partners have contributed to the development of this project, elaborating a “Comparative training methodology for dealing with knowledge, skills and core competencies of Civil Protection volunteers” and a final “Report on practices and skills identification of Civil Protection volunteers”.
Why do we need CiProVoT?
Millions of people and animals are affected by natural and man-made disasters each year. In the aftermath of a disaster, an affected population needs clean water, shelter, food assistance and protection. Humanitarian organisations and volunteers are the first to respond to these basic needs. As such, CiProVoT acts as the link between civil protection organisations and interested volunteers in providing assistance in times of crisis.
The development of disaster prevention and awareness in the Civil Protection is closely linked to the ability of drawing in the experiences and learning of this daily work as well as using daily operation in non-disaster situations to create networks with and broader awareness among other key stakeholders and the public on risk-management, disaster prevention and preparedness.
